Bremer County Corn & Soy Bean Scholarship: Deadline January 10, 2017
A merit-based scholarship up to $500 will be awarded to a high-school senior attending any of the school systems in Bremer County. The applicant’s parents or grandparents must be a prior and current member of the Iowa Corn/Soybean Grower’s Association. Preference will be given to an agriculture-based or agriculture related curriculum at a college or technical school starting in fall of 2016. Christina Hixson Opportunity Award: Deadline Frebraury 1, 2017
The Hixson Award is a half-tuition scholarship (estimated value of over $15,000 over eight semesters) offered annually to 100 Iowa students. Students must demonstrate financial need as determined by filing the FAFSA, students must faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship, students must be residents of Iowa, students must be admissible to Iowa State University and students must possess the potential to succeed. IAS will select 8 recipients to receive a $750 Ag scholarship. Parent or guardian must be an active patron of Innovative Ag Services, having purchased production supplies from the cooperative or sold grain to the cooperative within the past year. Students must be a graduating high school senior who will be majoring in an agricultural related field of study, attend an accredited college or university, and be enrolled as a full-time student. Awards range from $500 or more to each recipient. The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa administers over 125 scholarship funds, which generate over 250 awards each year. The majority of these scholarships use a "common application" whichs means that students need to complete only one application, and it'll be automatically matched to any scholarship for which they are eligible. If you can answer yes to ANY of these scholarships, there's at least one scholarship you are eligible for:

Trinity United Methodist - Waverly: Deadline March 31, 2017
Scholarships ranging from $200-$1,000. Awarded to high school seniors who will graduate from a Bremer County high school and/or others currently residing in Bremer County who plan to further their post-secondary education. Students who demonstrate a dedication to service will be given preference in the scholarship selection process. Chickasaw County Pork Producers Scholarships: Deadline March 31, 2016
$300 Scholarship. High school seniors who will be college freshman in the fall of 2016 at any two or four year institution. Must be a resident of Chickasaw County. Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship: Deadline March 31, 2016
$2,500 Scholarship. Mrs. Scott's was a temendous advocate for youth and supporter of communty service. She was among the 125 individuals whoe perished in the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001 when terrorists crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the building of the Pentagon. SFM Foundation Scholarship Opportunity: Deadline March 31, 2016
